What does it take to have a beautiful life?
You could answer that in many different ways, but in this course we are going to emphasize practicing gratitude, noticing the details of the days and feeling deeper than we usually do into the fabric that makes up an ordinary human existence. Living a life steeped in beauty doesn’t mean we have to live in in the Alps or vacation in exotic locations or land a modeling career. It doesn’t mean we are striving for a constant state of bliss or the dream job or even perfect health.
So what does it take?
It takes learning to feel what we feel without judgment, and it takes letting go of the tendency of allowing culture to dictate our story. It takes owning our response to life's hardships, and it takes looking past the illusions that can sometimes mar our view of our ideal. It takes waking up to what’s going on the the world, and it takes staying that way. It takes acting in ways that show love for ourselves, our communities and the planet.
It’s been said that it takes 28 days to break a habit - so take these next 28 days of simple suggestions and prompts to let go of ways of being, thought patterns, and habits that no longer serve, and replace them with new ways of being that do. When we can see beauty in the everyday - regardless of what that day holds, and sometimes even in spite of struggle and pain - we are setting ourselves up to live a beautiful life.
